Creating Beautiful Things - Raleigh Newborn Photographer

It’s no secret that I adore this craft. There is nothing quite like the thrill of creating amazing images for families and seeing the happiness on their faces when they see the final products. Another passion of mine is teaching photography. Whether it’s sharing a love of the craft with beginners who have just bought their first camera and want to dip their feet into a fun new hobby or speaking to a group of professional photographers about my systems and processes, giving that help to other people is really a joy. Does that seem really cheesy? Oh well, I’m going to cheese away, it’s my blog, after all!
When my good friend and fellow (amazing) photographer, Meredith of Meredith Cornett Photography found out that she was expecting her second child, it was only natural that I asked if I could do her maternity photos (or maybe I said ‘and, of course, I am going to do your maternity photos, right… RIGHT?!?’). And so this weekend, she and her family drove up all the way from Charleston, SC to take her maternity and family photos.
And of course we couldn’t stop there, at the same time, we scheduled a mentor session. In my mentor sessions, I want to work on the things my students identify as a need, and for this session we focused on wrapping (swaddling) babies for photographs. And we had a great time! We were able to work with an amazing, beautiful family with a gorgeous baby girl and practice wrapping and flow posing within a set. All in all, it was a successful day that produced gorgeous art. I can’t wait to share more, so keep an eye out on my Facebook and Instagram pages for more of our wonderful mentor session and maternity session.
In the meantime, if you are a photographer and you’re looking for a fun, quality mentor session, I offer several different options in several different subject areas. You can find out more about all that here.
