I have a bit of big news to share!
I've been a bit off the grid this past week because I've been at a conference in San Antonio. Speaking of which, can I just tell you about how awesome San Antonio is? Not only do they have some fabulous things to do and see, but the people are AMAZING. I mean, everyone I met was amazing.
But back to the big news. This is my annual trek to Imaging USA, a gathering of photographers by the Professional Photographers of America (PPA). PPA is a great organization for photographers and has done a lot for the improvement of my craft over the past several years. When I first moved to Cary, I decided it was time to start my Master of Photography degree - a designation offered by PPA recognizing skill and artistry in photography. The caliber of PPA Master Photographers has always impressed me, and I figured that I could never be like them, right? WRONG. I am, as of Tuesday night, a PPA Master of Photography!
My head is still reeling from the excitement of the weekend. Not only did I officially get recognized for my second running bronze medal in competition, but I reached a goal that has been several years in the making. Print competition, an essential part of the degree, has been one of the most helpful photographic journeys I have ever taken. It can be elating, brutal, and everything in between, and it will improve your work tremendously.
So, I would like to introduce you all to Aurora DeLuca, M.Photog.
(Below are just a few of the images included in my Master of Photography portfolio.)
